Lap Harp Accessories
Traditionally, a lap harp was held by crossing the ankles, putting the harp between the knees and resting it on the top of the calves. This works perfectly well for many people but in recent years a number of other options for supporting the harp have become available including sticks, stands and straps. Ours are made to work specifically with our Rees Concert Line lap harp models.
Lap Harp Stick
Some people have a difficult time holding a lap harp between their knees so we have designed a simple solution to assist these folks which adds both comfort and security. The Rees Harp Stick has two parts, one which fits into the lower soundhole at the back of your lap harp and the other, which stays external to your harp, rests across your knees. The Rees Harp Stick is extremely easy to install and remove. It is available in maple, walnut or cherry to match your Morgan Meadows, Morgan Meghan, Kelty Meadows or Kerrick Meadows Rees Concert Line Harp.
To install the stick, watch our video on this page. Melissa is using a Harpsicle® Harp in the video but the process is exactly the same for your Rees Concert Line lap harp.
Adjustable Stand
The Adjustable Stand for the Morgan Meghan (and Morgan Meadow) turns your lap harp into a floor harp making it easier to be played, displayed, and to stand on it's own. The Adjustable Stand takes the balancing act out of holding a lap harp, making it easy, and more excessable for everyone. Comes in your choice of matching wood walnut, cherry or maple and also can be fitted for a single or double harp.
Deluxe Harp Strap
The Deluxe Harp Straps are made in Chicago by Soldier Strap Company. Strap your harp on to play while sitting, standing, or moving. The underside of the strap is especially soft and is less abrasive on the finish of your harp as are both of the soft real leather ends.
The Morgan Meghan and the Double Morgan Meghan both come with guitar strap buttons installed at the shoulder and low on the front of the column. Simply attach each end of the strap to the buttons. Put your left arm and head through the harp strap loop making sure that the strap crosses over your right shoulder, across your back, and under your left arm. You will want to adjust the length of the strap and situate the harp so that it rest comfortably against your body. Depending on your body type this position may vary a little for each person. Play around with the positioning and do what feels the most comfortable to you as long as your head stays on the left side of the harp.
See below for strap design options.
The design offerings of the Deluxe Harp Straps (see below) changes periodically. Our supplier discontinues some while adding others. Keep an eye out for the one which is perfect for you and then be sure to hop on it so you don't miss out.
